Today was one of the days when for the first time since the hard disk crash i was not abusing western digital. One of the moments which make you happy even after such a long wait.

Let me explain what happened . I purchased a Western Digital(WD) 250 gb internal hard disk last year and was kinda happy with it. was having a disk space crunch so resorted to saving all my data on tha drive…. and then suddenly it happened . The drive crashed and took along with it the precious data i had on that. This just almost give me a shock cuz i had almost all my pics and dvd’s on that hdd and all my study material which i was supposed to be taking to infy along with me. But what can be done.

Anyways, filed the complaint for the replacement on 23rd of jan and the courier people collected the hdd on 4th feb. During this time , all i had been doing was whining about the data and the late response of WD for their costumers. They almost used to call me everyday during this period to tell me that the courier boy will come to pick the hdd by 6 pm but he naver came till 4th. Anyways, they took the hdd and today, on 10th of feb i have recieved the replacement hdd which i am truly happy with.

Happy , for what?? I am happy cuz i sent the hdd as a 250 gig drive and it came back as a 500 gig superior cache drive. All my whining has now kinda disappeared, and i’m now loving WD for that new (late) year gift….:D . When i told my friends about it , he told me that it maybe possible that they dont have the same one available in the refurbished inventory so they sent a better one!!! Well… who cares about that crap… all i care about is that i got a working 500 gig drive for free in exchange for the 250 gig obsolete drive…. I’m a truly satisfied costumer that WD would prefer to have…..:)

Yup , for sure!!! I just found the 6-7 well spent, enjoyed and mentally tickling hours via this game. The concept of the game is totally new. May even say its a genre defining game, and one of its kind , for sure!!! No enemies to fight, no people to rescue, no gunfights and no hunting for the shoot to kill monsters. As i already knew, the game was half life 2 engine based game so i expected it to be a kinda half lifish stuff. Kill..kill..kill..shoot..shoot..shoot….but to my utter surprise the game really starts up calm and composed. I just loved the story line.

And to add a little bit more, the game was not at all very long and not at all tiring…a mind challenging, physics puzzle types…I just loved every single bit of the game and its crisply defined levels. And finally i got my cake in the end….Was really very pleased with that. The finishing song was really laughable, still i enjoyed listening to it….

Anyways, gotta sleep now….. Sayonara!!!!

Drona : The Super Hero…..

To be very frank, I was waiting to see this movie. Guru and the performance of Abhishek in the same tingled me to like him as an actor and kinda made me a fan of his work. So basically , i waited for this movie cuz i wanted to see how much more power and the display of authority can Abhishek put into his work and his acting. And to be truthful Abhishek was outstanding in the movie as always. He gave the best he could to the movie but the movie was really not upto the mark.

The story line took up really good but then started to fall apart. Tids, bits and pieces of everything was put in to make the movie a masala movie. The emotions , love, sacrifice, adventure, action and what not was put into the movie. But it still lacked the punch, largely due to very weak screenplay. The movie tends to slow down after the start and then keeps trailing towards the end. Abhishek did his best to keep the movie from getting boring but even he couldn’t prevent the bitter reality.

I mean, I expected the movie to fare much better better than it really did. Kkrish was a lot better in almost all the departments. Even the action sequences seems to be incomplete. No proper adrenaline rush types…..Anyways, the movie is still a single time watch atleast but really not more than that. Priyanka was looking good in the movie but our villain kay kay menon was not upto the mark. Never seemed to be a really dangerous one and never caused any trouble to drona apart from sending his so called troops after him and falling to the sword fight in the end.

In the end , I would really say that i’ll give Abhishek 4 stars out o 5 for his powerful performance yet again and was the only thing holding on to the movie. But the movie itself is worth only 2 and a half stars and nothing more than that.

If Windows were Beers!!! :D

DOS Beer
Requires you to use your own can opener, and requires you to read the directions carefully before opening the can. Originally only came in an 8-oz. can, but now comes in a 16-oz. can. However, the can is divided into 8 compartments of 2 oz. each, which have to be accessed separately. Soon to be discontinued, although a lot of people are going to keep drinking it after it’s no longer available.

Mac Beer
At first, came only a 16-oz. can, but now comes in a 32-oz. can. Considered by many to be a “light” beer. All the cans look identical. When you take one from the fridge, it opens itself. The ingredients list is not on the can. If you call to ask about the ingredients, you are told that “you don’t need to know.” A notice on the side reminds you to drag your empties to the trashcan.

Windows 3.1 Beer
Once considered the world’s most popular beer. Comes in a 16-oz. can that looks a lot like Mac Beers. Requires that you already own a DOS Beer. Claims that it allows you to drink several DOS Beers simultaneously, but in reality you can only drink a few of them, very slowly, especially slowly if you are drinking the Windows Beer at the same time. Sometimes, for apparently no reason, a can of Windows Beer will explode when you open it.

OS/2 Beer
Comes in a 32-oz can. Does allow you to drink several DOS Beers simultaneously. Allows you to drink Windows 3.1 Beer simultaneously too, but somewhat slower. Advertises that its cans won’t explode when you open them, even if you shake them up. You never really see anyone drinking OS/2 Beer, but the manufacturer (International Beer Manufacturing) claims that 9 million six-packs have been sold.

Windows 95 Beer
The can looks a lot like Mac Beer’s can, but tastes more like Windows 3.1 Beer. It comes in 32-oz. cans, but when you look inside, the cans only have 16 oz. of beer in them. Most people will probably keep drinking Windows 3.1 Beer until their friends try Windows 95 Beer and say they like it. The ingredients list, when you look at the small print, has some of the same ingredients that come in DOS beer, even though the manufacturer claims that this is an entirely new brew.

Windows NT Beer
Comes in 32-oz. cans, but you can only buy it by the truckload. This causes most people to have to go out and buy bigger refrigerators. The can looks just like Windows 95 Beer. Touted as an “industrial strength” beer, and suggested only for use in bars.

Windows 98 Beer
Millions sampled Windows95 beer and noticed that it was often flat, right out of the can. The manufacturer of Windows95 beer decided to re-release it as Windows98 beer and guarantee it’s freshness. Most consumers are skeptical of the manufacturer’s claims, and will continue to drink flat Windows95 beer because they have acquired the taste for it.

Windows ME Beer
The worst of all the windows beers ever. They claim it’s great, and you will most definitely be satisfied. You take it home and are ready to experience your first taste of Windows ME beer, you crack it open, take a taste, curse and swear repeatedly. You pack up your Windows ME beer, take it back to the liquor store and demand they exchange you for Windows 2000 Beer.

Windows 2000 Beer
The manufacturer of the Windows line of beers says this will be “the” beer, if they can just finish playing with the ingredients. This beer will have many ingredients of Windows 95/98 and NT beers. Many drinkers in the future will be forced to drink this when they get thirsty since they won’t be able to find Windows 95 or 98 or NT beer on the shelves. According to manufacturer it’s combines the greatest taste ever with almost no calories. Only one problem, the cans explode without warning and take out half the refrigerator with them.

Windows XP Beer
This new line of beer, usually comes in home brew or professional brew and in bottles, however you will see some micro-brew XP’s out there. They are ok, but usually just mask the flavor with alot of “extra ingredients” that no-one really needs or uses. There is a few subtle differences between home brew and pro brew. Most deal with networking your beers with other beers, lets say at a party or a social gathering. Windows XP beer will far surpass Windows 2000 Beer and people will drink it more than any other Windows beer, however the first line of XP beers that came out were highly inconsistent and the brewery soon released updated packages of beer. I’d highly recommend drinking a minimum of SP2. SP3 XP beer is ok, however alot of them will not give you permission to open the lid when taken out. The end result is usually going to the store for some more SP2.

Windows Vista Beer
This is the newest release from the Microsoft line of beers. It was clearly developed to compete with the new MacOS beer released. MacOS will prove to be far smoother to drink than Vista beer, it will be less susceptible to spoilage do to a different type of bottle. Vista beer will claim these amazing things, self opening top, quick recovery if there is a spill or drop of some kind, different colored clear glass so you can see your desktop through your beer bottle. The most noticeable of all new items is the quick shut mouth. Every time you wish to take a sip, the top of the bottle automatically closes and asks, “Are you sure you’d like to take a drink? The publisher of these lips could not be verified at this time.” At this point you may continue drinking at your own risk, or simply put the bottle down because you haven’t had a beer since Windows 95 Beer and have no clue what beer is like these days. Despite all these new and improved features, Vista beer is having a hard time competing with it’s predecessor Windows Xp beer. Most packs of vista come with at least 2 – 3 bottles broken out of the box. They weren’t like that when you left the liquor store by the way, no matter how gentle you were in transporting. The word around town and from your friends is that Vista Beer will make you want to pull your hair out with every sip. You should just drink XP beer instead.

Unix Beer
Comes in several different brands, in cans ranging from 8 oz. to 64 oz. Drinkers of Unix Beer display fierce brand loyalty, even though they claim that all the different brands taste almost identical. Sometimes the pop-tops break off when you try to open them, so you have to have your own can opener around for those occasions, in which case you either need a complete set of instructions or a friend who has been drinking Unix Beer for several years.

Linux Beer
LINUX beer tastes just like Unix beer. Like Unix beer, Linux beer is intended for expert beer drinkers only. It originally had no pop tops or cans because you had to brew it yourself. First you would get a recipe and some yeast from a Unix guru. Then go plow a field, plant your barley and hops. After harvest you would take your Kernels and put them into a barrel full of water, then you just add your yeast close the lid, and let your beer compile. After all this you have what experts claim to be one of the Worlds Best Beers. Linux beers do not normally explode but many brewers have been known to. Linux beer is now available from some Micro Brewerys in handy pop top versions for easy drinking by beginner Unix or Linux beer drinkers. Keep your can openers handy.

AmigaDOS Beer
The company has gone out of business, but their recipe has been picked up by some weird German company, so now this beer will be an import. This beer never really sold very well because the original manufacturer didn’t understand marketing. Like Unix Beer, AmigaDOS Beer fans are an extremely loyal and loud group. It originally came in a 16-oz. can, but now comes in 32-oz. cans too. When this can was originally introduced, it appeared flashy and colorful, but the design hasn’t changed much over the years, so it appears dated now. Critics of this beer claim that it is only meant for watching TV anyway.

A visual OOOH-LA-LA!!!

Had been a long time since the movie has been around. Just went to watch it today. Read the reviews on imdb.com before going for it… what they said was that the movie was a total visual treat nothing more. So I didn’t expect much from the movie. I had watched the complete series so I kinda knew what was the movie going to be all about.

The movie was fun. Was a total and a perfect glimpse of what a Steven Spielberg movie could be all about. The visual effects were just too much off the hook. This movie could very easily be the movie to be as a benchmark for all the future movies having visual effects. They were just insanely ground-breaking. There never was a time when I even could have felt that the effects were fake or drawn on paper, rather were very ….lifelike.

Alright, even with a very weak storyline the movie held me up for two and a half hours straight. I just wanted action and it never stopped in the movie. All I wanna say is that, If you have not watched the movie then you are missing out something really very good. Must watch it atleast once.

The Great Predicament o’ my life….

The days have been going so wonderful now-a-days, that I just can’t define. The best that I could have ever thought about the holidays which I never even imagined in my wildest dreams to have even happened before are paving their way onto the reality, setting them on the firm ground. Good or bad they were happening and making ground breaking realities for me. One of them being the situation below…..

Earlier, I already had the impression that there was no choice for me about the companies and the job stuff, but now it has turned into a big PROBLEM. I just can’t choose between the two big brand names. Oh, by the way, I was placed in two companies before, one being U.S Technologies and the other being Infosys. So I always knew where I was heading. And then suddenly, a friend o’ mine rings me up at about 10.30 in the night and gives me a news about the merger of U.S Technologies and the I.T giant Wipro. This in turn rings the bells of merry as well as dilemmas in my head. Earlier…. I had a clear way. Earlier…. I knew which company I was supposed to be going in for. Earlier….. I knew where am I heading to. But now the whole scenario had changed completely. Have to choose between Wipro and Infosys…..

And to make my make my nightmares dreaded , another friend comes up to me and asks me whether I’ll be appearing for the MBA entrance exam or not???? This opens up another way out for me. Now I have three different paths for me and no decision where do I head to. I know I have got an year to decide upon all this stuff, but I love being prepared for my future, prepared for what am I heading towards, being ready for everything. But now it seems like I am sitting on a cloud itself made up of questions to which I have no answers at all…

Hope, the answers are waiting for me in my near future. . . .

The Last o’ All…

Finally, after such a long time and such small quote which I never wrote and just pasted it from the web itself yesterday, here comes a blog finally written by me after all my papers and the wonderful as well as disgusting things happening around me. HEHE…

So, once again I choose the blue pill and not the red one. The cloud of tensions was up with full force so I had to act quickly. So here goes my anti-depressant STUFF!!!! Hmmm…. The last summers of my college life are finally here. The last training of the 4 years of exile. The last time we all are gonna goof around doing nothing. Last time for me .Last time for everything. This ain’t what I wanted to be. This is turning out to be a perfect nightmare situation. Well, I actually never planned it this way but paved the path this way to be very frank. Had I acted quickly enough the scenario would have been a totally different one….

But what to do when you have nothing to do and don’t know what to do??? Anyways can’t help the fact this is the last year o’ my college life anyways. I just don’t want to leave it all. This bunking and friends and canteens and classes and friend’s birthdays to be very particular  , but this will end. The dead end is near and I still don’t know what to do and what not to.

I mean it’s really very cool that I am placed and everything, future security is of course there but I wanna live this free life. I wanna live with my friends. But the time won’t wait for me, I know and I can’t stop this moment. And I just can’t relive all the moments I have already enjoyed. Just the memories remain, somewhere back there in your mind and waiting for the tingling feeling of the neurons for them to resurrect and take me back into a flashback. . .

Just too off the track thinking about all this. What’s gonna happen after that. The final big question is….. MY FUTURE’S READY FOR ME TO JUMP IN, BUT AM I??????

[ME]: ….[ WTF!!!! That guy is preparing a syringe to be put into my mouth. I hate syringes…. God Help ]

[DOC]: Okk. Open your mouth.

[ME]: aaaaaaa [Sorry . If you think you can inject that into my mouth , then you are seriously mistaken]

[DOC]: It wont pain , don’t worry.

[ME]: I trust you… [Crazy freak , you are supposed to inject a syringe in my mouth and you are telling me that it wont pain.. Who made you a doc…]

[DOC]: Okk. With the anesthesia , it wont pain.

[ME]: Cool. Very nice for my sensitive gums… 

[DOC]: [ starts to drill my teeth ]

[ME]: aaaaahhhhhhhhhh!!!!!! Why is it paining doc??

[DOC]: Oh I forgot to mention , the nerves are still not numb , so when it touches that , It will pain.

[ME]: Okkk [You mother fcker , couldn't you have been nice and gave me that lil' piece o' info before]

[DOC]: Yeah, one of your teeth still needs some work done…. So come back tomorrow at 4.30.. Will that do???
